Mission

Our mission

FMRIC, or the Food Marketing Research & Information Center Japan is a public interest incorporated company that is mainly dedicated to food related investigations and researches in general. Originally established in 1967, in the authorization of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), our mission has been to work on various themes of every food related fields from production to processing to retailing as well as consumption in order to meet the needs of times. By promoting the food sector's development and maximizing its potential, we provide meaningful contribution to the national life.


To pursue our mission, FMRIC cooperate with MAFF and other central and local government-related organizations, as well as private firms. Most of our research achievements are released as reports into public and used by Japanese government and other related bodies as information sources.


These years, at the same time, we have gained considerable experience to provide eco-friendly solution for the food industry in accordance with the researches dealing with this sector's further development. For instance, we have run projects contributing the promotion of the food recycling or the utilization of domestic agricultural produce with government's support. As for the latter project, we actively devote ourselves at the moment.


In addition, we are preparing to launch independent projects to perform as an information base for food recycling technology development. Our know-how, networks and human resources that we acquired through various projects, are the critical components for this plan.

Our research area and activities

FMRIC has been working on various themes showing below. We are capable of wide ranged of target items such as fresh produce, stock farm products, fishery products, deeds, processed products, beverages including alcohols and flowers and ornamental plants.
